Sherpaneer

We are a boutique Salesforce Partner, that help clients implement the right way, the first time. Leveraging our women- owned diverse, nimble, and agile Team To help improve our client’s business.

https://sherpaneer.com/

Each year, The Sherpaneer Team chooses which organizations can be supported with our company’s 1% Pledge. We do this in many ones ways but one was during our company offsite in October. The team worked with a local food bank, Food for Others, to create “Power Packs” which are weekend backpack meals sent home with students who do not get enough food on the weekends without their school provided meals. Not only do we use this time to strength our team bond but also to remind us that each one of us can make a difference in someone else’s life.

Anna Fine Jewellery

I’m an ethical designer/goldsmith specialising in remodelling old jewellery into new.

https://www.annafinejewellery.co.uk

I’m very new to Pledge 1%, but helping to make other people happy has always been at the heart of my small business, based in Gloucestershire, UK. I’ve been working as an ethical goldsmith for many years now. Being extremely picky and always asking lots of questions about where my materials come from and specialising in recycling heirloom pieces of jewellery, destined to spend their lives sat in drawers, turning them into new and desirable pieces that will be cherished and most importantly “worn” again.

Alongside, making to commission, I also offer couples the chance to come and make their own wedding and/or engagement rings, but following being fortunate enough to receive a Covid recovery grant in 2021, I decided to take things a step further, by opening up a bigger studio space that could be used by other jewellers and makers that may have lost their teaching space due to all the extra restrictions that were now in place. This has resulted in a fantastic collaboration with another local jewellery designer/maker – Wendy Murphy. Wendy was an established jewellery tutor, but as she taught most of her adult education classes in schools and village halls, had lost most of her teaching opportunities, and therefore her income for many months. Wendy now uses my “non-profit” space as her own, teaching a large number of jewellery making workshops, all under the heading of “The Studio Jewellery School”.

Moving forward, my current pledge is to offer at least 1% of my time to help, advise and do my best to inspire and encourage anyone considering a creative career. With time for creative subjects being reduced and even dropped by so many UK schools, I can totally understand how so many just don’t see creativity as an important skill. They are so wrong though, and I’m goign to keep down my best to convince people otherwise!

Bucher + Suter

As a Cisco-dedicated partner, Bucher + Suter deploys, manages, and develops solutions for Cisco Contact Center and the Webex ecosystem. Our goal is to ensure that our clients exceed their own customers’ service and CX demands.

www.bucher-suter.com

Bucher + Suter committed to join the Pledge 1% movement in June this year. As a Salesforce ISV partner, many of us at Bucher + Suter has been exposed to Pledge 1% through our close partnership with Salesforce. Ultimately, getting backing from Bucher + Suter management was a simple case of demonstrating that:

• Tying together the activities that we’re already committed to, to an internal program would help us do more, more efficiently.
• And that the slight cultural changes that a corporate social responsibility program comes with would have significant benefits to our employees, our external relationships, and in time the business in general.

The one significant change, apart from more actively recording our charitable donations, and seeking out organizations who could do with our help, was to give our employees 2 days of Volunteer Time Off (VTO) per year. Again, forgetting the good we could do for organizations during those ~400 days of volunteer time and simply taking into account the benefits for our employees was a pretty easy sell. With management buy-in, we set off to formalize the program.

Forming
After an inspirational initiation call with Lindsey from Pledge 1%, we started sprinting. We created a task force of 8 and set short, medium, and long-term goals, and like that, the Bucher + Suter PLUS Program was born.

In the course of 9 months (running up to March 2023), our objectives (some completed, some in progress, some around the corner) for the program include:

• Branding the program and getting a group of people who could push it forward in a way that would bring about meaningful results.
• Making internal and external announcements to hold the task force accountable for driving advancements.
• Running small experiments like small batch VTO opportunities and making timely or event-bound donations on behalf of our customers and partners.
• Measuring the program’s success through the formation of KPIs.
• Active outreach and the search for more non-profit partners.
• Company-wide initiatives.

Small successes in the first 4 months
• In May, we officially launched the PLUS program at Cisco Live – one of our most important events of the year. As part of PLUS, we committed to cutting down on low-value (<$5) giveaways and instead donate to charities on behalf of our booth visitors. We combined some high-value prizes (from YETIs to AirPod Pros) with poker-style donation chips to be used as play tokens for our claw machine (like the one in Toy Story). If people didn’t win the high-value prizes, they still got to feel like they’d contributed something as we’d be donating to a charity on their behalf. We fundamentally believe that people want to give back. And we think they want to give back more than they want a pen or a branded plastic luggage tag. The positive message and the fun combined to give us our greatest-ever footfall at Cisco Live. It was, from all angles, a roaring success.

• In August, our marketing team, based out of Switzerland, departed on the company’s first official VTO day and headed into the rural mountains to help a Swiss farming family in need. It was back-breaking work, but they reported a sense of accomplishment and team bonding far beyond what they’d experienced in more leisurely team activities.

• As I write this (November 18, 2022), members of our Bensheim-office team, based out of Germany, are helping a local youth organization with repairs to an adventure park. The participants are smiling from ear to ear. The benefits of such activities are so multi-faceted that it guarantees our future commitment to PLUS and Pledge 1%.
• In December, our US teams will be getting together during their holiday get-together to provide hearing screenings with a charity in Nashville, Tennessee.

All of our non-day-to-day activities are now analyzed through a lens of giving back. Where can we do more? What can we do differently to ensure we’re meeting our CSR commitments? Whether charitable donations, volunteer time at team get-togethers, or encouraging our partner ecosystem to introduce us to non-profits who could benefit from our IP and services, the shift in mindset happened relatively quickly where it needed to.

These are small steps, and there’s still a lot to do, but we have a path; we’re excited to be part of the movement and look forward to making a difference.

Get Agile Ltd

www.getagile.co.uk

Started way before 2018, that year was the official involvement with Pledge 1% from employees time including professional services, since further % have increased, to 5% of book sales donation supporting SDG4 Quality Education, 1% of yearly profits, 1% of personal income donated.

We’re used to operating by the maxim “you can have cheap, fast or good: pick two”, but with the triad of sustainability, happiness and profit you really can have all three. In fact, with those things as a focus they actually nourish each other.

Companies are composed of individuals and we can do both, do good and do well. In fact, it’s more rewarding.
The value of a company’s goods and services is relative to the waste it generates. Sustainability and happiness are not at the expense of profit but a means to it.

“Put your money where you want the world to go. It’s as simple and as powerful as that” Christiana Figueres, Former Executive Secretary UNFCCC.
And put your mind, heart and efforts there too.

Over the years I have been extending the practice to help organisations to reduce waste. Waste of time, of efforts, of energy, finance, materials. To focus on impact. To leave the place better than how we found it that’s: Product, People and Planet.

I’m a Circular Economy professional (from Cambridge executive program) and very recently after rather intense last 6 month I can call myself a Biomimicry Practitioner. Also anything Carbon Accounting, I’m right here.

Welcome to the Age of Purpose.

The question is: Are you willing to be part of it?

LIVING FOR A CAUSE: PLEDGE 1%

A wise man once said, “Being able to give back a part of what you earn can help the world grow better,” We edify the teachings.

We have a story, and we are here to share it to illuminate the world. BugendaiTech initially rolled with a group of 4 acquaintances with a motto to reach a place without connectivity. The post-digital era shows no signs of slowing down, and it is now more critical than ever for businesses to adapt quickly. The idea of reaching people beyond our domestic boundaries with minimum cost ignited the will and soul of BugendaiTech.

Why a remote business? The most frequent query we receive is this one. In the USA, the average commute time for the working population is 53.2 minutes each day; however, in India, it is a whopping 90 minutes. By lowering carbon footprints and making a little contribution to mitigating climatic changes, BugendaiTech adds these hours back to the life of everyone who works here. Now that you mention it, everything makes sense.

In every industry worldwide, we meet customers wherever they are on their path to transformation and work with them to create lasting value. To co-design an intriguing method to change, we bring together pioneers in the field of systems, CRM professionals, data science experts, cloud migration specialists, information researchers, and many other skills. As a result, we increase our business and full-administration innovation capabilities.

But it was too early for us to stop. Initiated with a remote working culture and able to offer solutions for CRM, CMS, and Data Science under one roof, BugendaiTech is one of the businesses that enables clients to give customer experiences that are market-differentiating. The qualified experts are dispersed throughout the world and can effortlessly meet the needs of customers in each region.

Roushan Kumar , the co-founder of BugendaiTech, started this voyage with 2-3 sailors, and he is now sailing this gigantic ship with 115 members. Salesforce is the most upcoming tech niche, which intrigued him. He devoted himself to studying salesforce, then working on the same, and today, he is living his dream.

Not just this, he has sailed this ship into various other countries. We have footprints of our parent companies in the United Kingdom. UAE and in the European continents.

Our collaboration programs provide individuals and businesses with the resources and lucrative incentives needed to investigate prospects in any region.

Our USP

  1. We offer low-income students free training.

  2. On an employee’s birthday, we provide to impoverished students.

  3. Out of every ten services, one is provided gratis to a deserving client or NGO.

In past years, since our inception, we have not only existed to yearn for profits for ourselves but to invest it for the greater good. The Bugendaitech family offers free instruction to pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds. We also give them practical experience so they may learn about the industry, the workplace culture, and ethics.

The core principles of BugendaiTech’s #BugendaiNoble initiative are stringent “give back to the society” regulations. However, if one examines it deeply enough, one can see that Salesforce’s habit of #GivingBack is reflected in the company’s details, vision, goal, and objective.

Pledge1%: As a Salesforce partner, BugendaiTech works to improve the world via all of its activities. In order to nourish the environment around us, according to our CEO and co-founder, Mr. Roushan Kumar, we need to devote our time, efforts, and the appropriate products (homemade, if possible). Fortunately, BugendaiTech closely corresponds to the Pledge1% Salesforce 1-1-1 Philanthropic Model.

In the past, our organization has undertaken activities to support Pledge 1%’s mission. Among our highly successful initiatives are the following:

Pro Bono Projects: The group works on 1 pro bono project after completing 10 projects. We want to strengthen our communities and stakeholders in every way through these activities. Working for complimentary creates opportunities and experiences that are valuable. We take pride in the fact that we have served and will continue to serve a variety of communities that require our knowledge.

Birthday Bonus: Each employee who participates in the #BugendaiNoble program receives $100 for charitable purposes on their birthdays. We have the opportunity to engage with local orphanages, nursing homes, tree plantation projects, special education facilities, and much more through this effort. Since our staff members are from various nations, we have effectively provided smiles to many individuals worldwide!

Delve deep into our initiative. Hear from our employees about it.

Supporting communities, people and the planet

Along with supporting our customers, we do our bit to support communities and our planet; and these are aligned to our core values. We support the UN Global Goals through our business activity but also through our partnerships with B1G1 which allows us to give back and support other businesspeople and families. We are also accredited by The Good Business Charter and The Sustainable Marketer.

We are thrilled to be newly part of the Pledge 1% community and give our profits and time to make a difference.

Our contribution to reduce the world’s to do list

The UN Global Goals highlight areas where our planet needs improvement.  We have decided to give priority support to two of the goals, Wellbeing (Goal 3) and Economic Growth and Decent Work and Economic Growth (Goal 8).  From helping Kenyan farmers maintain their beekeeping businesses to giving young people in India access to arts workshops to develop their creative and life skills.  Working with Brevity means our clients support impacts like these too because we give, for example, every time we raise their invoice.  When a new customer comes on board, we increase our giving, funding vital causes such as life changing eye operations which make such a difference to people in developing countries.

Values and being an ethical business have always been the backbone of Brevity.  We worked on creating the right culture internally at first, so Brevity is genuinely a really good place to work.  And now we’re turning our attention outwards and thinking about how we can use the business as a force for good. We link donations to specific activities or business wins, so the more successful we are the more we give. That feels right.

B1G1

To date, Brevity has created almost 6,500 impacts across 18 projects worldwide including:

Volunteer days

Owner and director of Brevity, Kaia Vincent, is a trustee of the M3 Job Club, which helps members get back to work through coaching, workshops and mentoring. She has also applied to become an independent visitor for a child in care.

And for 2023, we are exploring employee volunteering opportunities in their respective local areas; helping at food banks, beach cleans and animal sanctuaries.

Telcowin

Malaysia’s #1 Salesforce® reseller and a certified technology consulting and implementation partner

Telcowin.com

If there is one thing that the recent pandemic taught us, it would be that we all live in uncertain times. Some who were not able to continue running their businesses suffered the hardest and it led to many industries being halted or completely shut down. We at Telcowin fortunately managed to not only stay afloat, we even turned a pretty profit. With that, Telcowin holds even stronger to our beliefs in giving back to the community.

With the pandemic, Telcowin’s non-profit work took a break but we are back this year. And in the spirit of providing aid to a different side of humanity every time, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) was selected. Similar to Telcowin’s first Pledge 1% activity back in 2020, this project was kicked off with about 640 man hours across four volunteers in July 2022, with 100% implementation fees waived.

DataColada

DataColada blends years of experience in human-centred design, development and data science to create Salesforce solutions that deliver exceptional digital experiences to customers, employees and partners. We believe in doing things right, the first time and every time. Our expertise in the not-for-profit, education, healthcare and professional services sectors demonstrates our commitment to helping those who positively impact our world.

https://datacolada.com/new/

We are a values based business with a focus on the triple bottom line – people, planet, and profit. We work with healthcare providers, fundraisers, and educators, many of whom are registered nonprofits. This focus allows us to attract individuals whose personal ambitions include contributing to social good with sustainable solutions in addition to monetary rewards. We see our role in helping organisations succeed in their mission by delivering innovative solutions that add economic and social value in sustainable ways.

This goal of creating social benefit is also part of our formal company culture, the “DataColada DNA”, and is represented by our participation in Pledge 1%. DataColada has pledged to give 1% of our equity, time, profit, and product back to the community. We significantly over-deliver against these goals and for the financial year ending 30 June 2022, we achieved pledge 6%. We are actively working towards a goal of pledging 10%.

As the latest example of our commitment, last month the team spent the day at the Good360 Warehouse. Good360 is an international nonprofit organisation that tackles two major problems communities around the world face daily: un-used goods in landfills, and people in need of resources beyond just food. Whilst there are many great organisations tackling food insecurity issues, Good360 aims to handle everything else. The organisation works with local suppliers and chain stores to receive overstock of brand new non-perishable goods to be routed to any charity in need of those donations.

In the warehouse, we packaged and sorted brand-new children’s clothing, toys, and toiletries to be arranged for delivery to numerous charities in need of spare goods. All in all, the team sent off 276 boxes for local communities!

It’s our absolute joy and honour to partake in these continuous efforts for good, and to partner up with such incredible charities such as Good360.
