Before I launched my own company, I helped my previous employer become a Pledge 1% member and was well aware of this community. So from day one of launching Profitable Purpose Consulting, I had three commitments written down on paper, Pledge 1%, 1% For The Planet, and certifying as a B Corp.
Since 2021, we’ve consistently donated around 6% of revenues to charity, and a combined 15% of time and money. We’ve also been a certified B Corp since 2022.
Baking this into our foundation has been instrumental in keeping our eye on the ball when it comes to our social impact strategy. We support local nonprofits working on important community issues and have been able to bring our giving back to our brand, which has been a game changer for differentiating our business from the competition.
This year, we have taken it a step father, combining our Founder’s passion for litter cleanups with our give-back strategy by collecting 10 bags of litter for every new client. This has been a fun way to promote our impact, shine a spotlight on our new clients, and break through the social media clutter.
Relativity’s Justice for Change program showcases the power of purpose-driven innovation. But it isn’t only about providing the right tools; it fosters industry-wide pro bono collaboration, ensuring recipients engaged in matters of social justice are able to leverage enterprise-grade legal data intelligence software alongside hands-on support from technical experts and experienced legal practitioners who can help them be successful with it.
The result is a more level playing field in high-stakes litigation or investigations where resources are often one-sided.
The many incredible teams behind Justice for Change form a passionate, effective, global network of advocates who have a real impact on access to justice. So far, the program has supported litigants in matters relating to climate change, wrongful convictions, children’s rights, gender equity, racial justice, and more.
Five years in, we’re honored to say that it delivers life-changing results—from exonerations of innocent people and expanded healthcare access to systemic reforms that advance the pursuit of justice—that have been celebrated by The Innocence Project, the Anthem Awards, and an extraordinary community of partners.
At Docusign, our employees’ commitment to community engagement is a cornerstone of our culture. Through the Docusign Impact Program, which provides paid Volunteer Time Off and year-round donation matching, employees are empowered to contribute in ways that feel authentic to them. Global Impact Week, our annual week of service, is an impressive demonstration of this commitment, where thousands of Docusign employees come together to give back to the communities where they live and work.
Our 11th annual Global Impact Week in September 2025 was a truly employee-led initiative. Our 60+ Impact Ambassadors around the world took charge, designing and hosting events that were deeply connected to their local cities, causes, and teams. With their leadership, we hosted 97 volunteer events across 12 countries and 34 cities, making it our most widespread and engaging year yet.
From Paris to Melbourne, Singapore to Seattle, employees cleaned beaches and parks, packed school supplies, supported animal shelters, assembled meals, and partnered with dozens of local nonprofits. Events ranged from large team efforts to smaller neighborhood projects, creating opportunities for employees to connect while making a meaningful impact in their communities. Docusign Impact creates a powerful ripple effect by fostering pathways to deeper community leadership. Employees are often introduced to nonprofits for the first time and subsequently leverage that connection into ongoing personal volunteering, family volunteering, or even board-level service. Whether an employee is volunteering for the first time or has a robust annual donation portfolio, our program is designed to meet each person where they are and amplify their efforts.
As a founding member of Pledge 1% and a committed boardroom ally, Salesforce Ventures believes that values drive value. From day one, we have embedded philanthropy and giving back into our mission, championing Pledge 1% as a core best practice. Our track record of top quartile returns, incredible founders, and unparalleled ecosystem impact proves that this approach is not just good for the world—it’s good for business.
At Salesforce Ventures, our values—courage, trust, equality, and mutual success—are the foundation of how we build lasting relationships with founders. We actively promote practices that foster inclusive and impactful companies through our Impact Fund and initiatives, such as Pledge 1% and our own annual volunteer goals.
Our commitment to Pledge 1% isn’t just advisory; it’s an active partnership. We share the benefits of incorporating the Pledge 1% model—donating 1% of equity, profit, product, or employee time—into our portfolio company’s businesses from the outset, and we model this behavior by setting ambitious annual volunteer goals for our own team.
The Impact Snapshot:
- Over 200 companies in the Salesforce Ventures portfolio have taken the Pledge to date.
- Each year, our global teams and portfolio companies unite for a day of service, putting our values into action. For example, our 2025 efforts spanned the globe, partnering with nonprofits like Splashes of Hope (NYC), Made in Hackney’s Community Cookery School (UK), SVA Books For All (JP), and Playworks (National).
Celebrating the Transformation: Airwallex
Every year, the Cloud 100 event celebrates the world’s top private cloud companies and acknowledges those who lead the charge in giving back. Past Pledge 1% Award winners—including Icons like Twilio, Docusign, Slack, Procore, Canva, Guild, Snyk, Checkr, and Service Titan—have consistently proven that purpose-driven companies perform better.
This year, the Pledge 1% Award—presented by Salesforce Ventures—went to a company that exemplifies this transformation: Airwallex.
Airwallex, a global payments platform, didn’t wait until it was “big enough” or “profitable enough” to make a difference. Instead, it wove impact into its DNA from the start. On its tenth anniversary, the company formalized this commitment by taking the Pledge.
What makes their story so inspiring is how the entire organization embraced the commitment. Teams across Finance, Legal, People, and Leadership came together, asking: “How can our success create a broader impact?”
Their giving back contributions showcase the power of this grassroots effort:
- A 58% increase in employee volunteering.
- 43 scholarships awarded.
- Support for over 1,800 startups that are naturally uplifting entire ecosystems
Airwallex is just one recent example from our portfolio that proves that leveraging your assets for good isn’t a distraction from success—it’s a catalyst for it.
At Chime, our mission is to unlock financial progress for everyday people — not only through our products, but through lasting community impact. As proud members of Pledge 1%, we’ve committed 1% of Chime’s equity to fund the Chime Scholars Foundation (CSF). CSF was founded to help students ease financial burdens, boost graduation rates, and open doors to higher-paying career opportunities.
This year, we welcomed our largest Chime Scholars cohort to date: 800 students across 369 institutions, receiving over $3 million in scholarships. Sixty-four percent of these scholars are pursuing nontraditional programs — from trade certifications to community college degrees — and 65% are the first in their families to attend college. Since its launch in 2022, CSF has provided $7 million in scholarships to more than 1,000 students, with an 87% projected graduation rate — nearly double that of Federal Pell Grant recipients.
Through the Chime Scholars Foundation, our 1% pledge is transforming ambition into opportunity — and helping students nationwide open pathways to financial progress. As one scholar shared, “Receiving the Chime Scholarship not only supports me financially but also validates my journey of perseverance and reinvention.”
We’re proud to continue to provide scholarships and help the next generation of hardworking students build brighter futures for themselves, their families, and their communities.
Most companies think about giving back after they’ve achieved success. At TORY, we knew that integrating purpose into our foundation—before we ever earned our first dollar of revenue—was essential to who we are and the impact we want to create.
TORY is a personal asset inventory management platform that helps people document, organize, and track their physical belongings during life’s most significant moments—from moves and insurance claims to estate planning and relationship transitions. Our tagline, “Your Inventory Tells a Story®,” reflects our belief that our belongings aren’t just possessions; they represent our journeys, our memories, and our worth beyond what appears in a bank account.
Why We Took the Pledge Before Launch:
Our founder, Kelsey Creveling, built TORY from personal experience—through 14 moves in 18 years, evacuations, property damage, divorce, and loss. She understood firsthand that life’s most challenging transitions are often made more difficult by the chaos of managing what we own. But she also knew that TORY’s real purpose extended beyond inventory management—it was about supporting people during the moments that matter most.
Before launching our commercial platform, before securing our first paying customer, we made a commitment: 1% of our employee time and 1% of our future corporate profits would support organizations that aid individuals during significant life transitions.
This wasn’t a decision we made because it was trendy or good for marketing. It was because our mission—to transform personal physical asset management while supporting better stories and outcomes for users—demanded that we practice what we preach.
Taking Action Before Revenue:
Even in our pre-launch, pre-revenue phase, we’ve been actively giving back:
- Financial contributions to organizations supporting recovery and transition
- Direct TORY Gold memberships provided to individuals rebuilding their lives after disasters
- Hands-on service, with our team supporting natural disaster cleanup efforts
We didn’t wait for profitability to start making a difference. We started where we were, with what we had, supporting people through the exact transitions that inspired TORY’s creation.
What Pledge 1% Means to Us:
Taking the Pledge 1% wasn’t about waiting until we were “ready” or “successful enough.” It was about building impact into our DNA from day one. When we officially launched TORY in September 2025, our Better Stories Initiative was already part of our website, our stakeholder conversations, and our company values.
We’ve structured our business model—with both free and premium tiers—to ensure accessibility while generating sustainable resources for giving. Our premium users know that when they invest in TORY Gold, they’re not just getting enhanced features; they’re contributing to a company that gives back to communities and individuals in crisis.
The Impact of Starting Early:
Embedding Pledge 1% into our foundation before launch has:
- Resonated deeply with our early users, many of whom have experienced the exact life transitions we support through our philanthropy
- Shaped our product roadmap, ensuring we build features that serve not just affluent users but also vulnerable populations during their most difficult moments
- Created accountability, making giving a non-negotiable part of our operating model rather than a discretionary expense
- Attracted mission-aligned stakeholders who understand that sustainable businesses create lasting value for all stakeholders
Our Message to Other Early-Stage Companies:
You don’t need to be profitable to be purposeful. You don’t need millions in revenue to make a commitment. The best time to embed giving into your company’s foundation is now—before your culture is set, before your priorities solidify, before you convince yourself you’ll “get to it later.”
At TORY, we’re still in our early days. We’re growing our user base, refining our product, and building toward profitability. But we’re already living our values through the Better Stories Initiative. Because the stories we tell about impact matter just as much as the stories our users tell about their belongings.
Join us in creating better stories—for our users, our communities, and our world.

Addteq’s Commitment to Giving Back
At Addteq, business success is closely tied to social responsibility. Through Pledge 1%, we donate 1% of our profits to philanthropy, investing in communities that need support the most. Reflecting this commitment, Addteq was invited to ring the NASDAQ opening bell on Giving Tuesday, Dec 2, 2025. This year, rather than taking the stage ourselves, we pass the honor to someone whose journey truly represents opportunity and giving back — Dhanashree.
A Beginning Rooted in Purpose
Every remarkable journey begins with a foundation. For Dhanashree, that foundation was the Akanksha Foundation, a public‑private partnership that reimagines holistic education for low‑income communities in India. At Akanksha’s LAPMEMS school in Bopodi, Pune, she discovered not only academics but also the values of critical thinking, public speaking, and the belief that every child deserves dignity and opportunity.
Akanksha Foundation’s model — government infrastructure combined with innovative curriculum and teacher training — gave her the space to grow beyond rote learning. This foundation led to her first stage appearance at the Akanksha Gala in the US, where, at just 12, she offered an early glimpse of the soon-to-be young but global career.
Crossing Borders, Expanding Horizons
Her path soon extended far beyond Pune. After earning a full scholarship to the United World College in Tanzania, she embraced the International Baccalaureate curriculum, with a focus on history and economics. This first departure from India brought fresh cultures, perspectives, and aspirations.
After two years, she chose a gap year — not as a pause, but as a deliberate exploration of justice and community. During this time, she worked in Cape Town with human rights organizations, interned with Akanksha’s donor relations team (a “full circle moment”), and engaged with the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights, witnessing genocide trials in Tanzania. These experiences further reinforced her conviction that education and justice are inextricably linked.
The Power of Invitation
Now a student at Trinity College in Connecticut, Dhanashree continues to integrate economics, human rights, and political science, carrying forward her commitment to giving back.
That spirit is why Addteq, through Pledge 1%, has chosen Dhanashree to ring the NASDAQ bell. Our invitation is not just symbolic — it is a signal to the world that education, opportunity, and generosity can extend far beyond one moment, shaping many lives.
A Story That Inspires
From the classrooms of Pune to international courts, and from Akanksha’s nurturing environment to the global NASDAQ stage, Dhanashree’s story illustrates how education grounded in values and supported by community can unlock extraordinary potential.
Her experiences reveal what is possible when communities invest in education. Supporting organizations like Akanksha Foundation and initiatives like Pledge 1% helps create more opportunities for future change makers. By committing to give back, we empower more students like Dhanashree to enter the world with courage, purpose, and hope.

Joining Pledge 1% has enabled us to consistently remember to give back to our immediate community as a form of CSR.
We have donated tangible funds to the Department of Education at the University of Lagos (UniLag) for a programme, and to Yaba College of Technology (YabaTech) as a sponsor during their departmental week in 2022.
We also carried out a giveaway where students were encouraged to download the Ntapi App and, in return, received a one-time data stipend to support their learning experience on the platform.
We are excited to commit 1% of our product and our team’s time to raising social impact grants that help make accessible education affordable and enjoyable for trans-generational learners across Africa.
At Coupa, we’re proud to champion Women in Tech whose impact lifts our people, our teams, and our communities. As we enter the season of giving, we’re celebrating the women ambassadors who powered Global Impact Week 2025 across 14 cities worldwide.
From organizing food drives and river clean-ups to supporting hospitals, shelters, and youth programs, these women showed what it means to give with purpose, and reminded us that impact starts with all of us.
Our ambassadors say it best:
Global Impact Week is more than a moment — it’s part of Coupa’s ongoing journey to advance Coupa’s sustainability & social impact commitments by building stronger communities, fostering inclusion, and promoting sustainability.
Every hour volunteered and every action taken reinforces our belief that doing good and doing well go hand in hand. Together, we’re using our collective power to create lasting, positive change for people, the planet, and the future.
Coupa’s Global Impact Week 2025 saw 543 employees volunteer more than 1,700 hours through 31 events across 6 continents. Learn more in our Global Impact Week blog here.
