www.coveo.com

When Coveo joined the 1% Pledge on November 30th 2022, we were determined to focus on Knowledge and Education as the center of our Pledge. Our initiatives prioritize programs for young people (between the ages of 6 & 18) from vulnerable social groups. At Coveo, we believe that universal access to knowledge and education is the ultimate social equalizer and that it is critically important to support children as much as possible during their formative years.

We view our pledge as an investment in our community and in our collective future. We also envision this as a pathway to building a unified company, where shared values and social causes drive us forward together in solidarity. Pledging 1% puts us in a great position to build both a stronger business and brighter future for us all.

WHAT DOES CONSCIOUS COMMERCE MEAN?

In light of Giving Tuesday and our commitment to Pledge 1%, we felt it was the perfect time to discuss the concept of Conscious Commerce.

First, the word Conscious has many meanings. If we distill it to the simplest form it might help to consider the opposite – Unconscious. So, when we spend unconsciously does that mean we spend without consideration or care? Possibly, or maybe it is a simple reflection of the options you have in front of you, or the money you have available. .

If you have the luxury of product options and finances to afford them, you might be looking for packaging claims like social and environmental responsibility, and the third party certifications that go along with them. Today, there are many brands that are building their business consciously, or with care and consideration for causes that are aligned with their values. While some companies do this for marketing reasons, or to sound good to you, it’s not difficult to peel back the veil.

Purpose-driven companies like Sarilla, are rooted in making a difference, and were built upon the ethos of helping to make the world better in some way. For us, we exist to inspire to joy, to encourage everyone to look for a reason to celebrate, to move past the pain and fear, even if just for a moment. We all have experienced tragedy, some more than others. We have learned from our partners in Rwanda what it means to to seek out joy in the midst of hardship; to help a neighbor even when we have very little; to smile at a stranger even when our child is sick. We are inspired for these reasons and we have tried to capture the resilience and the joy in Sarilla.

Before we showed up in a can in your local cooler set, we were building culturally-appropriate, locally-led models in Rwanda, to provide support for trauma healing and to build personal inner resiliency. We started to connect entrepreneurs with mentors and business skills, igniting the fire to create, to grow, to move past the history of trauma. Today we continue to build deep relationships with women in Rwanda, and are helping to grow Ubuzima Healing Garden Farm, a small plot of land which we are told brings a moment of calm to everyone who passes by and smells the fragrant tulsi, lemongrass and rosemary.

For Giving Tuesday this year, we will contribute half of all online sales toward the Ubuzima Healing Garden development fund, as well as toward the U.S. based nonprofit, Safe Bar Network. Beyond Tuesday, we contribute 1% of sales, 1% of product, and 1% of time toward causes aligned with our mission to end gender-based violence and to support entrepreneurs who have survived trauma to access what they need to live the life of their dreams. Learn more at our partner nonprofit 501c3 foundation, Africa Healing Exchange. Please consider donating to AHE any day, and thank you for choosing Sarilla!

Tequma AG

Tequma AG (Salesforce Partner) helps companies and Non-Profit organizations to automate their business processes using Salesforce solutions.

www.tequma.com

Tequma AG is a Zurich based company, specialized in implementing and developing Salesforce Ecosystem – #1 CRM in the world. Our team of experts makes sure that all your internal processes, including Sales, Service and Marketing, are automated and customized to your needs.

One year ago, our founders – Jacek Czernuszenko and Piotr Pyszkowski, decided to bring new quality to the technology market and began their own journey with years of experience that they had gained.

Since then, our company is still growing, bringing new people sharing same values.

Our main goal is to empower our clients to reach the top level of efficiency and productivity, no matter how and where they operate. Through the last year we supported three Nonprofit Organizations from different areas by giving them necessary, costless tools to spread help and hope around the globe. We faced many challenges and obstacles on our way, but thanks to team collaboration and support, we met our customers’ expectations and helped them achieve their targets.

  1. Wicci Polska – India: Thanks to Salesforce NPSP our client was able to successfully organize its annual event through automation of fundraising processes, simplified communication with event attendees and 360-degree view of all participants are just a few custom modifications we implemented.

  1. Schweizerische Gesellschaft für Dyspaghie (SGD): As a team we made sure that our client can successfully execute all tasks linked to the organization operation in a simple way and easily manage ongoing processes: streamlined tasks, running automatic campaigns and shared workload.

  1. Foundation for Immigrants Hope (FNI): By performing data migration from legacy spreadsheets to Salesforce and customizing the Salesforce system, we provided FNI fundamentals to build their strength and bring hope to all immigrants from Ukraine. Digitalized management of their great humanitarian activities and onboarding processes performed from one place helped all the volunteers to overcome upcoming challenges.

Our motto says “Learn, Unlearn, Relearn”. This not only motivates us to gain new knowledge every day, but also reminds about sharing the knowledge that we have already possessed. As a Tequma team, we have successfully run three seasons of Tequma Salesforce Academy – our own, costless initiative helping people enter the job market with necessary skills and get introduced into Salesforce world by certified experts.

We believe that is just a beginning of our journey. On Giving Tuesday and all year round we are proud to support Pledge 1% Community and we are honored to share our story to all its members. If you feel that the way how you operate could require some improvements, we will be more than happy to assist you during transition.

Redtag Joins the Pledge 1 % Movement to Donate 1 % of Time to Free Education

“A small effort today can have an enormous impact tomorrow.”

The Move

Pledge 1 %, the initiative cofounded by Salesforce, Atlassian, and Rally, brings life-changing opportunities and empowers all participants to solve global issues. It is a charity program meant to encourage businesses to give more value to communities and to become a decisive force with a positive impact on the community.

Pledge 1% was something that was out there. At some point, we needed to get bigger and join the community. Having familiarized ourselves with the move, we understood that we had been doing what it took to join Pledge 1% for a while.

Redtag participates in the Pledge 1 % program and volunteers to teach those interested in Salesforce. We have been teaching for several years, and our experience is valuable and worth sharing. We realize the vast potential of Salesforce and the talents in our teams so that we give equal opportunities to everyone who wants to use this power to make beautiful things happen. Salesforce is also interested in spreading technology and knowledge that are robust and life-changing. So, we decided to share our knowledge and skills to build a better future now.

The Academy

The Redtag Academy was launched in 2018, as we wanted to give hundreds of talented people a chance to follow their passion, study new skills, and find the job they dreamt of. The Academy’s mission matches our values, as we love what we do and strive to grow a passionate team. We are all aware of the recent changes in society and feel the consequences of the pandemic and full-scale war. Most people have lost their jobs and businesses and left everything behind, and they are looking for new opportunities that we are ready to provide. As a remote job in IT is one of the best options to make a good living for most Ukrainians – our education project comes in handy. Over 100 students have graduated successfully and found the job they wanted, keeping growing professionally.

At Academy Starter Camp we introduce Salesforce to our students, teach them basics and prepare them for their first job. Those who attend our Academy get excellent networking opportunities and enjoy drinks and snacks at our cafeteria. The course duration is up to three months with zero tuition fee. We also offer equal job opportunities to the most capable students, so they join our team as trainees, keep learning and get a salary. Some aspiring developers, consultants, and QA engineers joined our team, having finished the Academy successfully, and later even got back as mentors and lecturers, sharing their knowledge and values with newcomers.

To get an idea of our Starter Camp, look at some stories of our mentors and students.

Ananstasiia Matviychuk shares her experience about being the mentor at the Academy.

When you teach someone, you, first of all, learn yourself. And this is the truth, verified by my own experience. I am very interested in watching how young talents develop professionally who a year ago had not even heard of Salesforce.

Yuriy Pinchuk about his journey from the Starter Camp to first Salesforce-related job.

The Salesforce course at Redtag is a significant life-changer for me, the opportunity to work on awesome projects and understand business needs and operations worldwide. Thanks to my study there, I have expanded my network of friends and colleagues without borders, enjoying remote work opportunities. I work in an incredible team with a decent salary and limitless growth prospects. My way is not easy, but I enjoy it and know for sure- the result depends on me and my effort.

The Influence

With the Pledge 1 % movement, we can contribute to everyday well-being, help those who need support, and consolidate a friendly culture of equality and synergy in our team and beyond. As the demand for remote jobs soared, the education we provide is essential and life-changing for many people. We keep teaching people, and new student enrollment will be next year- we are looking forward to seeing new curious minds in our team. We know how to be helpful and change the world with cutting-edge technology and collaboration!

Adventures made possible

Longing to achieve goals and follow dreams makes us Human. Helping others to achieve their goals and follow their dreams makes us true Pledgers

Today we are honored to be a part of our friend’s dream – reach more than 150 of the most attractive Croatian peaks on his own by pushing his limits every single day.

As a Salesforce partner, we value growth and community, thus it was a no-brainer for us that we wanted to help make this adventure possible, so we tried and did.

We spent some time with Dane to help him create a beautiful website about his projects to promote local traveling since Croatia has so much to offer apart from the beautiful seaside with internationally known attractions.

We also ensured that Dane had everything to make this adventure possible – equipment, hiking passes, and more.

Now we can follow Dane living his dream (and you can too!) using modern GPS technologies.

When Dane started his adventure he was pushed by the desire to seek tranquility and connect with nature far away from a modern hectic world full of stressful people. After 2000 km of the path he has already been on and after meeting so many kind people on his way who helped him with accommodation, transportation, and food, he restored his faith in humanity. And that is an achievement of its own, which we are incredibly proud to be a part of.

Visit Dane Opara’s website and follow him online on his inspiring journey to explore Croatia and his true self.

Printfresh

A woman-owned luxury printed sleepwear and home goods brand focused on sustainability and extended size offerings.

https://printfresh.com/

As a sustainable, eco-friendly business in the fashion and design industry, Printfresh immediately felt a connection to FABSCRAP and the incredible work they do. A charitable, non-profit organization, FABSCRAP recycles and redistributes hundreds of thousands of pounds from the fashion industry in New York City and Philadelphia every year.

Since Printfresh’s inception, we’ve been committed to taking the extra step when producing our organic cotton sleepwear. Our cutting marker (the guide used in the cutting process) allows for a really good consumption percentage of the fabric, and our pattern master efficiently lays out our patterns before hand cutting. These efforts mean that there are very few leftover fabric scraps. All usable scraps are stored for upcycled projects. Our sewing factory partner is one of the cleanest, light filled and environmentally responsible factories we’ve seen. They recycle wastewater on site and are solar powered. Their printing facility (a different location) recycles the waste water from printing and rinsing through a private pipeline, processing and returning it to the facility for reuse.

With that being said, we know not all brands pay this close attention to their fabric waste. We are so happy that organizations like FABSCRAP exist to reduce waste and allow others to participate in the process through volunteering. As a part of 1% pledge, members of the Printfresh team volunteered for two separate sessions at the FABSCRAP location in Philadelphia. Spending our time sorting through textiles into recyclable materials was a fantastic experience. FABSCRAP currently offers service in New York City and Philadelphia where all the material collected (about 7,000lbs per week) is sorted with the help of a large community of volunteers. FABSCRAP hosts two daily volunteer sessions at both locations to help get through all of that material. About half of the material collected is reusable and is made available to their community through a thrift store model- with stores in Brooklyn, Philadelphia, and online. The other half that isn’t readily reusable is downcycled into a material called shoddy- used for various forms of insulation.

Our 1% time at FABSCRAP meant so much to us, that Printfresh decided to make the organization our own Giving Tuesday Business. This means that on Giving Tuesday, 15% of our net sales for the day will be donated to FABSCRAP to continue their mission of ending textile waste.

Intellek

At Intellek we believe in the power of education, and our mission is to make sure everyone has access to the learning resources they need. We are a global company headquartered in the USA with additional locations in Canada, Europe, and the UK; we have been in business for over 30 years and pride ourselves on delivering high quality learning technology that allows people to learn in a focused, efficient, and goal-orientated way.

https://intellek.io/

What would the world be like if everybody had access to the learning resources they need to truly flourish?

That is our dream at Intellek!

To accomplish this our CEO (Claire Revell) has created an initiative called Opening Doors.

The Opening Doors project was founded to provide access to education for the most vulnerable people worldwide, and its purpose is just that… to open doors. Opening doors to education, opening doors to new opportunities, opening doors to a new career, and opening doors to a safe environment. With its roots in providing free education to children and improving the lives of young people around the world, the project has constantly evolved and expanded to broaden its impact.

As part of our pledge and giving strategy we are looking to ensure that every child around the world can get free education where and when they need it. To date Claire, Opening Doors, and Intellek have now funded the schooling of 12 young individuals in the 1000 Hills Community of Inchanga, near Durban in South Africa. With access to over 800 targeted eLearning modules, all free of charge; there are currently 5 organizations using Opening Doors LMS in South Africa and Uganda, with 144 active users across them all. Claire and the team are in talks with another 48 more schools in Africa alone.

On this year’s #GivingTuesday we wanted to showcase the efforts of some of the individuals in our team, alongside our corporate efforts to provide access to education in the wider community. We believe in empowering our team to do all they can in support of good causes that are close to their hearts. To this end we have created a volunteering program that allows scheduled time off for our staff to partake in charitable activities…

Our passionate Head of Network & Security, Adrian kickstarted our new volunteering initiative earlier this year at LifeBeat, where he gave his time to support young people struggling to cope with their own challenges. Drawing on his personal skills to teach them self-confidence, self-protection, and Filipino martial arts – among a whole bunch of other things!

As well as taking part in more physical and practical giving activities – such as a sponsored half marathon (Breast Walk Ever) for the charity Against Breast Cancer and being a volunteer transect surveyor for the Bat Conservation Trust – the leader of our marketing department, Ricci is a regular on the Reach Volunteering platform. Where he is able to use his professional skills to do good, by supporting charitable organizations with web design and digital marketing support.

Someone in the team who is an avid fundraiser is our Head of BD and Innovation, Daryl – who literally puts his feet on the ground to support MIND (https://www.mind.org.uk/), FORCE (https://forcecancercharity.co.uk/) and McMillan (https://www.macmillan.org.uk/). Last year he raised £1,500 for FORCE by running 1,084 miles over a 6-month period (7 miles every day for 6 months). More recently he’s done two 10K’s to support MIND, and he has plans for 2023 that will include both FORCE and McMillan.

We love the fact that our team finds such diverse ways to give!

As a Pledge 1% Member, we at Intellek dedicate at least 1% of our revenue and resources to support the schooling and education of some of the world’s most high-risk young people. We believe that together we can ensure that every child has a safe and supportive environment, to grow and develop into well-balance adults and valued members of their community.

Impactful Ninja

Impactful Ninja is a global community of experts researching and publishing science-backed content with the aim to make a positive impact on the world & society.

https://impactful.ninja/

One of the biggest challenges we face when we want to give to charities – like during this years #GivingTuesday – is to figure out which charities would be best aligned with the causes we care most about. As a result, we might just give by chance to the charity that approached us or that we happened to come across at the right time.

And that’s one of the reasons why we, Impactful Ninja, exist: to enable millions of people (and counting), just like you, to give to the charity that best fits the causes they care most about.

Actually, our mission is even bigger than that, it is to provide you with valuable information on how to make a positive impact on the world and society!

Charity support, is one of our main educational verticals. For this, we’ve published hundreds of articles that cover the best charities for specific causes. And chances are that you either might already have or will come across us when researching for some charities that you’d want to give to. From the best charities for helping homeless people to the best charities for supporting Ukraine to the best charities for planting trees – our goal is to cover them all.

Speaking about the best charities for planting trees. We also walk the talk and have partnered with Neighborhood Forest to plant a number of trees in the name of each of our team members, each year during Earth day/week.

We are happy to partner with Neighborhood Forest as they provide free trees to children to plant in their own backyards. In this way, these trees are more likely to endure, thrive, receive a lot of love and care, and help to green our cities in a decentralized way. And the children also experience the wonder of seeing their tree grow over their lifespans, learning to love nature, and eventually becoming ambassadors for our environment – multiplying our positive impact together.”

But in addition, we also cover many other educational verticals. At the core, Impactful Ninja is an educational platform. We are a global community of experts researching and publishing science-backed content with the aim to make a positive impact on the world & society.

Our current focus areas (a list that’s continuously expanding) are as follows:
